Angela Mastronuzzi: AIEOP2023 has concluded and I have so many people to thank!

“AIEOP2023 has concluded and I have so many people to thank!
With over 500 participants, which included researchers, nurses, doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, speech therapists and so many enthusiastic young people, we saw a record number of abstracts, of the highest quality, presented this year.
I want to thank Savoia hotels Bologna for its beautiful location and hospitality, Arcangelo Prete, our president, board of directors, Michela Vandi, Megan Eckley and all those who participated.
A highlight for me was to present my work on atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors, which is one of my main interests regarding embryonal tumors.
Thanks to Titti Tornesello for introducing me to the world of pediatric hematology-oncology.
A special thanks to our parent associations and in particular to Il Coraggio dei Bambini, the main sponsor for our fellows to attend the conference.
Last but not least a very big thank you to my mentor Professor Franco Locatelli and to my extraordinary Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù team who support me in this exciting adventure. Without them nothing could be possible.
I look forward to serving as AIEOP‘s president-elect starting next month, then in December 2024 I will begin my three-year term as president!
Until next year – we are united for our children! cure more cure better.”
