Lisa Coussens is Chairwoman of the Department of Cell, Developmental, and Cancer Biology and Associate Director for Basic Research at the Knight Cancer Institute, Oregon Health and Science University. She also holds the Hildegard Lamfrom Endowed Chair in Basic Science.
Dr. Coussens’ research focuses on understanding how normal immune cells influence different stages of solid tumor development. She investigates how early tumors exploit leukocytes to promote cancer progression and examines how these immune cells affect responses to cytotoxic, targeted, and immune-based therapies.
