Aaron Goodman shared a post on X:
“Just saw some dapsone methemoglobinemia. Dapsone is pesky, also caused hemolytic anemia in G6PD deficiency! Hb O2 carrying capacity 2/2 oxidation ferrous (Fe2+) to ferric (Fe3+) can’t carry O2 but normal arterial PO2 by ABG Dx = Co-oximetry Rx = methylene blue.”
