Runcie C.W. Chidebe: Africa and many LMICs need global voices like Carolyn Taylor
Runcie C.W. Chidebe shared on LinkedIn:
“In this insightful comment on Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, Carolyn Taylor shared:
“I discovered that 70–80% of patients in LMICs are diagnosed at a late stage and typically die within 2 years of receiving their diagnosis. Many patients and their families had limited health literacy about cancer, and too few resources were available to assist them. I encountered immense human tragedy and remarkable resilience, and met inspirational individuals who profoundly changed my life and shaped my future work as a cancer advocate.”
To understand people and their challenges, a trip to those communities cannot be overlooked.
Africa and many LMICs need global voices like you Carolyn Taylor Super thanks to you. Special thanks to Nature.
