Arif Kamal: Cancer is not a red vs. blue issue, it’s a human issue
Arif Kamal shared a post on LinkedIn:
“On the cusp of a major national election, we should remind ourselves that cancer is not a red vs. blue issue.
It’s a human issue. Because nearly half of men and one-third of women will personally experience cancer in their lifetime.
A 33% mortality reduction from cancer since the early 1990’s has spanned multiple administrations, political philosophies, and funding climates. But to keep that progress transcendent to who is sitting in a seat, we must keep cancer as a voting issue.
As voters get ready to make their decisions, it’s clear from the recent American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) National Voters Phone Survey that several health-related topics, including insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs, are top of mind.
Brilliant work by Lisa Lacasse, Philip O’Brien and team.”
