Our work “Clinical Characteristics and Outcomes of Cancer Cases Among Syrian Refugees From Southern Turkey.” was published in JAMA Netw Open. 2023;6(5):e2312903. doi:10.1001/jamanetworkopen.2023.12903
This is a major work of cancer in forcibly displaced people and it will be useful reference for researchers, international organizations, governments and decision makers on this field.
Syrian refugees from Southern Turkey with cancer often have late presentation, delayed diagnoses & treatment abandonment. 5-year survival: adults 18%, children 30%. Cancer care among refugees needs shared responsibility & global coordination.
