“News alert: my memoir written with Garry Maddox is coming out soon.
Just over a year ago I was diagnosed with a Grade 4 IDH wildtype glioblastoma – the worst subtype of brain cancer. I am now patient zero for applying melanoma science to treatment for my cancer.
Brainstorm is the story of my journey from a cancer doctor and researcher to a patient, and what I’ve learned from the year my life has been turned upside down. From what’s important to me, how I want to live my life and my hopes for the future for myself and other cancer patients. Above all, it’s about the need to be bold. We shouldn’t just lean into life, science, love…we need to leap in.
