Megan-Claire Chase about the urgent need for inclusive breast cancer research
Megan-Claire Chase, A Patient Advocate, shared on LinkedIn:
“Today is World Breast Cancer Research Day. I want to remind the oncology medical and research community that you need to put forth more effort and action to reach historically excluded communities and those who are/were diagnosed under 40 like me. Your criteria for clinical trials is always based on the white European population and not taking into account people who look like me or are biracial.
I really enjoyed my conversation with Connie and feel quite hopeful about the research on chemo induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). My case was severe, and NONE of my doctors thought outside of the box to help manage it. I had to take it up on myself to find help.”
