Tracey O’Brien: At the Cancer Institute New South Wales (NSW), we’re proud to support incredible New South Wales researchers like Nunki Hassan.
Tracey O’Brien, New South Wales Chief Cancer Officer, shared a post by Cancer Institute New South Wales on LinkedIn:
“At the Cancer Institute New South Wales (NSW), we’re proud to support incredible New South Wales researchers like Nunki Hassan. Earlier this year, Hassan received an Early Career Fellowship of close to $600,000 from the Institute to undertake research into Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), one of the deadliest forms of blood cancer.
While our understanding of blood cancers like AML, Leukaemia and Myeloma has increased significantly over the past 40 years, research is key to helping more people survive these aggressive cancers.
This Blood Cancer Awareness Month, Hassan shares her perspective on why she is passionate about cancer research.”
Quoting Cancer Institute New South Wales’ post:
“Research spotlight: This Blood Cancer Awareness Month, find out how research in NSW is working to create a better future. Nunki Hassan, from The University of Sydney is leading an Early Career Fellowship, developing a novel targeted therapy to eradicate leukemic stem cells.
