Lynn M. Schuchter is the President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Dr. Schuchter is the Chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, Director of the Tara Miller Melanoma Center and Professor of Hematology-Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Schuchter served on the ASCO Board of Directors from 2009 to 2012, as well as several ASCO committees, including terms as Chair of the Annual Meeting Scientific Program Committee, Cancer Research Committee, and Cancer Communications Committee. In 2019, she was awarded ASCO’s Women Who Conquer Cancer Mentorship Award.
Dr. Meenhard Herlyn is a Professor in the Molecular and Cellular Oncogenesis Program at the Ellen and Ronald Caplan Cancer Center and serves as the Director of The Wistar Institute Melanoma Research Center.
His research focuses on understanding the tissue environment in both normal and malignant states, with a particular emphasis on melanoma, the most aggressive form of skin cancer. Dr. Herlyn’s work aims to develop targeted cancer therapies by studying the interactions between cancer cells and their surrounding environment.
