Lung Cancer Awareness Day – August 1st
August 1st is known as Lung Cancer Awareness day. It is dedicated to raising awareness about the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. Approximately 2.1 million people are diagnosed with lung cancer annually, emphasizing the importance of early detection and prevention.
This day encourages individuals to learn about risk factors, such as smoking, which accounts for 85% of lung cancer cases. Lung cancer has a high mortality rate, with about 1.8 million deaths each year, making it crucial to promote regular screenings and advancements in treatment. Lung Cancer Awareness Day aims to reduce the mortality rate and support those affected by this disease.
