“Addressing the Challenges of CNS Tumors: A Call for Centralized Care and Collaborative Networks.
Primary Central Nervous System (CNS) tumors are rare and challenging, with significant impacts on patients and care givers.
Their incidence rates in Europe ranges from 3.5 to 7 cases per 100.000 for children and adults, respectively.
Specialized care is crucial, but not always available locally, often requiring patients to travel far for treatment. Clinical research is also hindered by the rarity of these cancers.
Cancer networks provide essential support by:
- Connecting patients to specialized centers.
- Facilitating collaboration and clinical trials.
- Offering logistical and economic support.
