Jessica Altman, MD is a Professor in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She also serves as Director of the Acute Leukemia Program at Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center of Northwestern University. Dr. Altman’s clinical and research interests include acute and chronic leukemias, anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and myeloproliferative diseases.
Ann Lurie was a philanthropist, nurse and Northwestern University life trustee who transformed the lives of countless people. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Florida. She worked in public health and pediatric intensive care nursing in rural Florida and at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
She is lifetime member of the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University. At Children’s Memorial Hospital, Chicago, she endowed a chair in cancer cell biology and donated $1.3 million to fund the Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV/AIDS research.
