Julie McCrossin: As an 11 year survivor of throat cancer, I don’t take life for granted
Julie McCrossin, Journalist, broadcaster and facilitator, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Granddaughter Billie’s first day at kindy in Adelaide this week (Right). Billie’s Mum Amelia’s first day at kindy Springwood NSW (Left). I feel so grateful to know and love these two gals.
It is World Head and Neck Cancer Day today. As an 11 -year survivor of throat cancer (stage four oropharyngeal cancer treated with radiation therapy and chemotherapy) I don’t take life for granted.
Thanks to the multidisciplinary cancer team who treated and supported me and thanks to my fellow patients who have offered me peer support ever since. There are some experiences that are so unique and traumatic that only someone who has walked in your shoes can truly understand.”
