Cancer poses a significant and rapidly growing burden in Cambodia, with lung cancer emerging as the most prevalent type among both men and women. – City Cancer Challenge
City Cancer Challenge shared on their Facebook page:
”Cancer poses a significant and rapidly growing burden in Cambodia, with lung cancer emerging as the most prevalent type among both men and women.
Phnom Penh recently joined C/Can’s network, leading to the collaboration between the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia and C/Can to organise an inaugural workshop on the future of cancer care in Cambodia. This workshop brought together key stakeholders from the local healthcare community, facilitating the introduction of the C/Can model. Together, we identified priority needs and explored potential solutions to enhance cancer care in the city.
Prior to the workshop, the C/Can delegation took part in informative visits to local hospitals and care centres. They provided invaluable insights, offering a firsthand perspective on the state of cancer care in Phnom Penh. We were delighted to have our partners, Andrew Hockey from Sanofi and Dr. Myat Thu from Roche, join us for these visits.”
