Lisa Lacasse: Join ACS CAN for a screening of documentary on the impact of systemic racism on access to care

Lisa Lacasse shared a post on LinkedIn by Lucy Cox-Chapman Dagneau, Senior Director of State and Local Campaigns at the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), adding:

“DC-based friends – please be our guest and join American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) for a screening of this exceptional documentary and discussion – through the patient voice – of the impact of systemic racism on access to care.”

Quoting Lucy Cox-Chapman Dagneau’s post:

“Making a movie was not in my career goals but it’s been such a rewarding and joyful project over the last year. My team at American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) worked with alignco and Ashley O’Shay and Cherrelle Swain and an incredible crew to bring the film ‘In Due Season’ to life.

‘In Due Season’ is an exploration of the history of systemic racism in our health system and the ways in which Black Americans are affected by racism, discrimination and the disproportionate impact of the coverage gap.

This project would not have been possible without the support of RWJF and our incredible partners at Black Voters Matter (Fenika Miller, Wanda Moseley).

We are thrilled that ‘In Due Season’ had its world premiere at DC/DOX Festival and will be shown at Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival in early August.

And now we’re having an event to share the film with the world on July 31st in Washington D.C.! If you love Medicaid, health equity and fighting to close the Medicaid coverage gap in the remaining 10 states we would love to see you there!

Visit our website and watch the trailer.
