“Almost 23 years ago, I stumbled into a class that would change my life.
Harvard University Professor Robert Putnam’s seminar on ‘Community in America’ highlighted the growing trend of social isolation and loneliness in the United States.
A new film ‘Join or Die’ features Putnam’s revives Putnam’s theories on social capital at a time when Americans report being more disconnected from one another than ever before.
The film was produced by filmmakers Rebecca and Pete Davis and features numerous prominent thought leaders including Vivek Murthy, Priya Parker, David Brooks, Glenn Loury, Xavier de Souza Briggs, Mike Lee, Julianne Holt-Lunstad, Hahrie Han, Raj Chetty, Shaylyn Romney Garrett, Pete Buttegieg, and Hillary Clinton.
I was fortunate to speak with Professor Putnam about the new film and present our discussion in my latest Forbes column.”
