Emad Shash: The first integrated cancer patient navigation and education model in Egypt

“I am thrilled to share that our program results, ‘Enhancing Patient Outcomes Through Integrated Education and Navigation Programs at the Breast Cancer Comprehensive Center,’ has been published in the Journal of Cancer Education!
This study marks the first integrated cancer patient navigation and education model in Egypt, implemented at the Breast Cancer Comprehensive Center, National Cancer Institute, Cairo University.
Key Highlights:
• 2202 participants benefited from our programs over 12 months.
• Over 90% of participants reported high satisfaction with our services.
• Significant improvements in breast cancer understanding, treatment adherence, and patient anxiety reduction.
• Audio-visual educational tools effectively bridged literacy gaps.
These results underscore the immense potential of integrated patient navigation and education systems in improving cancer care, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
