Gemma Peters: I had the pleasure of attending my first annual Parliamentary Macmillan Coffee Morning event with MPs, peers and supporters at Westminster.
Gemma Peters, CEO at Macmillan Cancer Support, shared on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending my first annual Parliamentary Macmillan Coffee Morning event with MPs, peers and supporters at Westminster.
I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to meet with Health Minister (DHSC), Will Quince and discuss plans to tackle cancer delays and for the time he took to talk with some of our guests who are living with cancer and are currently struggling to access the care and treatment they need.
We are calling on politicians across the UK to commit to providing the NHS with the funding and support needed to ensure everyone, everywhere gets the potentially life-saving cancer care they desperately need, on time. Together, we’re raising awareness of the long waits for tests and treatment people living with cancer are facing across the UK.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and supported our campaign.”
