Volker Hovestadt: MANTIS AI Tool Predicts Personalized Outcomes for Children With Brain Tumors

Volker Hovestadt, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, shared on LinkedIn:

“Our newest, out today!

We created a novel AI tool (MANTIS) to predict personalized outcomes and therapy responses for children with brain tumors.

MANTIS uses epigenomic profiles that are already generated as part of modern diagnostic workflows.

We hope that our tool will help doctors to make better treatment decisions that carefully balance the risk of tumor recurrence with harmful effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

The project was led by the fantastic Sabina Stefan, with contributions from Amelie Amann, Ida Larsson, Fabio Boniolo and Estelle Pfitzer in the lab, and our friends at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.”
