Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, UICC President-Elect of 2024-2026, Founder and CEO of the Medicaid Cancer Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) – Cancer Planners Forum 2026 has officially commenced in Geneva, bringing together leaders, partners, and institutions committed to strengthening national cancer control across the world.
These interactive sessions are vital as countries continue to navigate rising cancer burdens, workforce gaps, financing challenges, and inequities in access to care, while advancing and implementing National Cancer Control Plans.
For Nigeria, this comes at a significant time following the inauguration of the country’s new National Cancer Control Plan (2025-2030) last month, reflecting a renewed national commitment to improving cancer prevention, treatment, and overall access to quality cancer care.
Looking forward to the conversations and outcomes from this year’s forum.”
