“At this year’s annual meeting of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT 2026) in Madrid, Katie Rizvi presented ‘Recommendations for equitable, diverse, and inclusive cancer care in Europe’, spotlighting the work of The European Youth Cancer Network (Youth Cancer Network) EU co-founded project.
The presentation highlighted two key upcoming outputs, the EDI Self-Assessment Tool for Patient Organisations and the Guidelines for Inclusive Events for People Affected by Cancer, while also spotlighting other initiatives like ACE Academy, the first EU-funded training programme dedicated to empowering young people to become advocates for better cancer care.
The event spanned four days and welcomed over 6,000 healthcare professionals, researchers, and people with lived experience.”
