WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (WHO EMRO) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Fear and stigma may delay life-saving care.
When cancer is treated as a sensitive disease that is forbidden to talk about, people may neglect to get tested and ignore the warning signs. But with early detection, many cancers can be treated.
Candid dialogues, awareness-raising, and sharing stories of recovery can help break down the stigma barrier and encourage people to seek care sooner.”
