Syria participates in the launch of a global initiative to support cancer patients in conflict zones in Geneva
The delegation of the Ministry of Health, headed by the Minister of Health, Mussaab Al-Ali, in the presence of the Director of the Directorate of Cancer Diseases, Jamil Al-Dabal, participated in the launch of the global initiative ‘OncoCorridor‘ in Geneva, on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly.
This initiative is one of the largest global initiatives dedicated to supporting cancer patients in conflict zones. It aims to highlight their suffering, connect them to advanced treatment centers, and provide them with the necessary medical expertise and services around the world.
The Syrian participation included two official speeches by Minister Al-Ali and Dr. Al-Dabal, in which they stressed the importance of international cooperation to support cancer patients and strengthen their chances of accessing specialized healthcare.
The Syrian delegation also held a series of bilateral meetings with several delegations and participants, during which the Syrian program for the care of cancer patients was presented, and avenues for developing international relations and expanding areas of cooperation were explored, in order to ensure the necessary support and medical care for patients.”
