“In this golden October, there is a milestone I want to highlight regarding my former postdoc, Dr. Da Yang.
12 years at the University of Pittsburgh, promotion to Full Professor last year, multiple R01s, chartered NCI study section membership, and an exceptional group of successful trainees – what a trajectory!
Back when Da was an Odyssey Fellow in my lab at MD Anderson, his drive was obvious. Whether leading landmark papers featured on the cover of Cancer Cell or publishing in JAMA, he always pushed the boundaries of translational cancer genomics.
Over the past decade, he has established himself as a recognized leader in the study of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and Myc regulation.
Seeing his independent research group at Pitt thrive – continuously publishing high-impact work in journals like Cancer Cell, Nature Communications, and Advanced Science – has been immensely gratifying.
