Wafaa M Rashed, Chair and Founder of Pan-African PGS Education and Research Initiative, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Africa is speaking — and now, its most experienced leaders are speaking with us.
In Part I, young African advocates stepped forward with courage, conviction, and a united call for
A Genomics Policy for Africa — By Africans.
Today, Part II marks the next chapter.
Senior scientists, professors, ethicists, and policy leaders from across the continent now stand beside our advocates.
Their message is powerful and urgent:
- Science without policy is a promise without action — a seed without soil.
- Africa’s genomic future must be shaped with justice, ethics, and African leadership at its core.
These experts are not stepping forward to replace the new generation — they are here to stand with them, to strengthen a movement that belongs to all of Africa.
Part II represents unity across generations, across disciplines, across borders.
One mission. One goal. One Africa.

If their message resonates with you, please share this widely — let the world hear Africa’s collective voice in genomics.
Africa is ready — not just to participate, but to lead.”
