Wade Swenson: Proud to Welcome Six Students to Our 2027 Research and Advocacy Fellows Program

Wade Swenson, Medical Oncologist and Hematologist at Rural Cancer Institute, Professor of Internal Medicine at Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at Texas Christian University, Presidential Leadership Scholar, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The Rural Cancer Institute is proud to welcome six outstanding students to our 2027 Research and Advocacy Fellows program.

This year’s cohort spans institutions from Texas to Pennsylvania, reflecting the national reach of our mission to close the gap in rural cancer care.

Meet the 2027 fellows:

  • Kameron Hahn, Kansas City University
  • Sydney Hibbs, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, College of Medicine
  • Uma Obalapuram, Kansas City University
  • Madisen Devries, University of Oklahoma College of Medicine
  • Taylor DeVine, Penn Dental Medicine
  • Haya Qaddura, Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at Texas Christian University

Through this fellowship, these students will engage directly in research and advocacy to address the disparities that rural cancer patients face every day. Your zip code should not determine your prognosis, and this next generation of clinicians is helping us prove it.

Welcome to the team!”
