European Cancer Organisation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Meet the leader who helped change the course of cancer screening in Europe!
The European Cancer Screening and Early Detection Policy Summit is proud to welcome Vlastimil Válek, former Minister of Health of the Czech Republic.
During the 2022 Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, and under his tenure as Health Minister, updated screening recommendations were adopted, expanding EU guidance to include prostate, lung and gastric cancer screening.
This milestone marked a major advance for cancer prevention and early detection across Europe.
Hear the details of how it came to be and explore how the EU-funded PRAISE-U, SOLACE and TOGAS projects can build on that success.
Date: 17–18 February
Location: Brussels and online
Register to attend in person (limited spots available) or to follow online!”
