“Christine Mungoshi helped found the Zimbabwe Brain Tumour Association, after her daughter’s diagnosis in 2001 at the age of 8, when there were no support networks in Zimbabwe for families facing a brain tumour diagnosis.
The Association, which recently became a UICC member, works to address late diagnosis, fractured treatment infrastructure, and a near-total absence of national data on the disease, and importantly engaging with Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Health.
