Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“UICC was pleased to host a WHA79 Roundtable on Lung Cancer: Accelerating Global Policy, Evidence and Country Implementation Tools, bringing the Lung Cancer Collaboration partners together to align on the next phase of global lung cancer work.
It was valuable to hear from José Luis Castro and André Ilbawi from the World Health Organization, who shared updates on the Integrated Lung Health Resolution, accelerating implementation efforts, and positioning lung cancer across both lung health and cancer control agendas.
We also heard from Beatrice Lauby-Secretan and Xiaoshuang Feng from IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer on the new Handbook 21 on Lung Cancer Screening findings, evidence gaps, registry priorities, and data needs for implementation and planning.
We were honoured to hear from Rasika Bombatkar, a World Cancer Day advocate and a member of Lung Connect India Foundation, a UICC member organisation, sharing her perspective as someone with lived experience of lung cancer.
Thank you to everyone who joined the discussion and contributed to this important conversation.”
