Toufic Kachaamy, Chief of Medicine and Director of Gastroenterology at City of Hope, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This year marks my 11th GI ASCO, and it’s a moment that invites reflection.
I started this journey as a gastroenterologist, driven by a passion for endoscopy. Over the years, that passion evolved into a deeper commitment: transforming my practice toward endoscopic oncology.
What continues to inspire me is the unique space where endoscopy meets oncology. Bridging these two worlds allows us to push boundaries, rethink traditional pathways, and most importantly: offer patients effective, minimally invasive cancer interventions that focuses on Organ Preservation and preservation of quality of life without compromising outcomes.
GI ASCO has been part of this evolution: a place of learning, collaboration, and constant challenge to do better for our patients.
Grateful for the mentors, colleagues, and innovations that have shaped this path and excited for what lies ahead as we continue to redefine what’s possible in cancer care.”
