Marina Belén Romanello, Executive Director of The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Lancet Countdown’s 2025 Global Report is now out!
This year’s report was challenging to write… not because of its technical complexity, but because of its sobering findings.
Our evidence clearly shows we are entering uncharted territory, with the health threats of climate change reaching record-high levels. The future is looking increasingly dangerous, as key global leaders are turning their backs on the science, and pushing us further off-track from a safe future.
But there is a lot of hope and inspiration to be found – from the grassroots organisations championing a just transition, to health professionals globally rising to the challenge to protect people’s health from a dangerous climate.
And, of course, the inspiring efforts of the 128 colleagues who contributed their immense expertise and very precious time to generating the evidence in this report. We hope this evidence can help inform accelerated action to tackle climate change, and deliver a safer future for all.
One thing is sure – we now need all hands on deck.
