Terisa Tamang, Psychosocial Counselor at Bir Hospital, Founder, President and Counselor of Dhairya Cancer Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
“Proud and grateful to have represented Nepal at the Community Oncology Global Congress 2026.
It was a privilege to share my experience and perspective on psychosocial support in cancer care on a global platform, alongside inspiring oncology professionals and advocates from around the world.
The discussion highlighted an important message: cancer care must go beyond treatment. Patients, caregivers and families also need psychosocial, supportive, palliative and survivorship care throughout the cancer journey.
I’m deeply grateful to OncoDaily for this opportunity and to Nancy Hart Wicker, MD, HMDC, FAAHPM, for moderating the session, as well as my fellow panelists Adrian Pogacian and Vijay C for such an meaningful and insightful discussion.
As the Founder and President of Dhairya Cancer Foundation, I was especially grateful to bring a perspective from Nepal where community-based and accessible psychosocial support can play an important role in strengthening cancer care.
I’m thankful to everyone who continues to support my work and my journey in cancer care.
Bringing the voice and experience of Nepal to the global oncology community is something I will always cherish.”
