Tamer Refaat, Associate Director of Global Oncology at Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center – Loyola University Chicago, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“One of the most valuable aspects of in-person meetings is the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, exchange ideas, discuss clinical practice, and provide mentorship and career development guidance.
It was a true pleasure for the ASTRO Global Refresher faculty to meet with early-career faculty members and trainees from across Egypt. The discussions were insightful, interactive, and remarkably thoughtful. Our faculty were particularly impressed by the depth of knowledge, curiosity, and engagement demonstrated by the Egyptian trainees, which led to rich conversations on clinical decision-making, research, education, and professional growth.
As we conclude the inaugural ASTRO Global Refresher in Cairo, we are encouraged by the enthusiasm and talent we witnessed. This successful first meeting provides a strong foundation upon which we can continue to build and refine future ASTRO Global Refresher programs around the world.
Thank you to all participants, faculty, and organizers who helped make this event such a memorable and impactful experience.”
