Tamer Refaat: Expanding Collaboration Across Both medical Education and Cancer Care

Tamer Refaat,  Associate Director of Global Oncology at Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center – Loyola University Chicago, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“It was a great pleasure to welcome the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, the Dean of the School of Health Sciences, and the Governor of Rzeszów to the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, along with our teams at Center for Community and Global Health (CCGH) and Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center (CBCC).

I was truly impressed by the remarkable progress in Rzeszów and the ambitious vision to build a state-of-the-art medical center/University Hospital. Loyola is proud to serve a large and vibrant Polish community, making this visit especially meaningful.

During their tour of the cancer center, the delegation explored our clinical programs and research enterprise – highlighting our innovative clinical trials, translational science efforts, and commitment to delivering high-quality, multidisciplinary cancer care.

The visit concluded with a productive discussion with CCGH leadership, where we learned more about the exciting developments in Rzeszów and identified areas for future collaboration.

This engagement was initiated through the Polish Consulate and led by Josephine Dlugopolski-Gach M.D., F.A.A.P., President of the Polish American Association.

We are excited about the strong mutual interest and look forward to expanding collaboration across both medical education and cancer care. More to come.”
