“This weekend, I had the privilege of spending time with some of the brightest minds in cancer research at the Krzyzewski Family Cancer Research Symposium during the V Foundation Wine Celebration.
What makes these scientists extraordinary isn’t just the groundbreaking work happening in their labs, it’s their willingness to step out of those labs and share their passion with the people who make that work possible.
Dr. Shannon Stott showed how a simple blood test could transform the diagnosis of pediatric brain tumors.
Dr. Robert Canter reminded us that discoveries in dogs and humans can accelerate progress for both.
Dr. Ami Bhatt said something I’ll carry with me for a long time: ‘We don’t just need dollars, we need people who believe in us.‘
That is exactly what the V Foundation is about – believing in scientist and giving them the freedom to ask hard questions that others might overlook.
