How strongly is frailty linked to depression in patients with cancer?

This meta-analysis pooled 13 cross-sectional studies covering 7,037 patients with cancer and found frailty was associated with nearly six times higher odds of depression (OR 5.79). The association held consistently across regions, age groups, gender, and different frailty and depression assessment tools. The authors suggest routine depression screening in frail patients could support earlier intervention.
