Siddhartha Yadav, Associate Professor of Oncology and Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Mayo Clinic, shared a post on X about a recent article he co-authored with colleagues published in Gynecologic Oncology:
“What happens to patients with advanced ovarian cancer who do not undergo cytoreductive surgery?
Our data show that despite neoadjuvant chemotherapy with intent for interval surgery, approximately 25% are unable to proceed due to poor response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy or functional status decline, resulting in worse outcomes. We are designing risk-adaptive clinical trials with alternative regimens to improve rates of ICS- more to come soon. ”
