Shubh Goel, VP, Global Franchise Head, Lung Cancer at AstraZeneca, shared on LinkedIn:
“Lung Cancer Awareness Month is not an abstract moment on a calendar.
It is personal for me, for the patients and families behind every data point we work toward, and for the millions of people around the world still waiting for science to catch up with their diagnosis.
At AstraZeneca, we’re calling on the entire healthcare ecosystem to rally behind the lung cancer community this month.
Innovation across immunotherapy (IO), antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and targeted therapies is accelerating, and there have been clear breakthroughs in lung cancer screening and early diagnosis.
The momentum is clear, but to truly transform outcomes, we must ensure this progress reaches every patient.
That last part is what I keep coming back to.
The science is moving. The question now is whether our systems, our partnerships, and our collective ambition can move with it, fast and equitably enough, to matter for everyone.
The story of lung cancer is still being written.
This month is a reminder of why that work cannot wait.”
