“Today, at Churchill College, University of Cambridge, I encountered a delightful and charming tradition. The college library keeps a copy of the eighth edition of Hoffbrand’s Postgraduate Haematology, and whenever one of the book’s authors comes to give a lecture here, they are asked to sign it.
I was delighted to add my signature to this copy as one of the authors. Over time, this book will become a special edition bearing the signatures of many of its authors.”
