Semiramida Nina Markosyan, Managing Editor at OncoDaily, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today marks 3 years at OncoDaily.
It’s hard to believe how much has changed since it all began.
My journey started when I was selected to be part of the AGBU Global Leadership Program. At the time, we were finalizing my internship placement, and I had submitted several labs and hospitals that interested me. Then I received an email from my dear Gayane Manukyan saying that the President of AGBU Armenia thought it would be a good idea to connect me with Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan.
‘What do you think about it?’ she asked.
Of course, I was eager.
I still vividly remember sitting in Dr. Tamamyan’s office as he passionately spoke about all the incredible work Armenia was doing in pediatric oncology. Then he told me about a new initiative called OncoDaily, a project that was still in its infancy at the time.
He shared his vision for what OncoDaily could become: the ‘New York Times of Oncology.’
Without hesitation, I knew I wanted to be part of it. I believed in Dr. Tamamyan’s vision completely, and I trusted that something special was being built.
I joined as one of the very first volunteers.
Fast forward three years, and today I have the privilege of serving as Managing Editor of OncoDaily Biotech and OncoGrants by OncoDaily as well as a Partnerships Specialist. Along the way, I’ve worn more hats than I can count. I’ve had opportunities to learn, grow, create, lead, and contribute in ways I never could have imagined.
What makes OncoDaily truly special is that we are so much more than a just a team, we are a Family! This is a place where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and people are empowered to try new things, take risks, and grow into roles they never expected to have.
A special thank you to Samvel Chakhalyan, Elen Baloyan, Shushan Hovsepyan, and of course Amalya Sargsyan. Your leadership, support, encouragement, and belief in people have shaped not only OncoDaily’s success, but my own personal and professional growth as well. Working alongside you has been one of the greatest privileges of this journey.
Over these three years, OncoDaily has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. I will always cherish the friendships, experiences, lessons, and opportunities it has given me.
Most importantly, I am proud of the impact we make every day. Connecting the global oncology community, amplifying important voices, sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, and helping advance cancer care and research for patients around the world.
To my dear colleagues, thank you for making every day at OncoDaily such a joy. I’m grateful to be surrounded by such talented and inspiring people. And to the broader OncoDaily community, thank you for your support, trust, and belief in what we do. You are a big part of what makes this journey so meaningful.
Three years later, I am just as proud to be part of this family as I was on day one.
Here’s to everything we’ve built together and everything still ahead.”
