Sarbajit Mukherjee: Obesity-Associated Colorectal Cancer as a Unique Biological Entity

Sarbajit Mukherjee, Chief of GI Medical Oncology at Miami Cancer Institute and Co-Chair of GI Clinical Trial Working Group at Hoosier Cancer Research Network, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Obesity-associated colorectal cancer behaves like a distinct biological entity—especially when you examine the immune microenvironment and chemokine signaling.

This work is being presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium, with Deepak Vadehra presenting his poster right now—and yes, at this point, him presenting at every meeting feels almost guaranteed (in the best possible way).

Major credit to Yu Fujiwara, first author on this project, whose leadership and rigor drove these analyses.

If you’re at ASCO GI, please stop by the poster.”
