Salvatore La Rosa, Chief Scientific Officer at the Kidney Cancer Association, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Beautifully captured by Radha Chitale, Kidney Cancer Association’s Sr. Communications Director, this post highlights what we proudly achieved Sept 11–13 at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas during our first-ever RCC Animal Model Workshop.
For the first time, the world’s leading experts in RCC model development came together to define the state of the art in preclinical research, chart future directions, and—most importantly—build consensus on how these models should be applied to study RCC biology and test new therapeutic strategies.
This shared vision will accelerate drug development by aligning how results are interpreted and, ultimately, help streamline the path from lab to clinic.
As Dr. Kaelin reminded us, it starts with asking the right questions—and then building rigorous evidence of efficacy. These models are the tools that will help us do exactly that.
