Sabine Brookman-May: Multimodal Machine Learning Methodologies in Precision Oncology
Sabine Brookman-May, Senior Vice President of Therapeutic Area and Head of Urologic Oncology at Aura Biosciences, shared a post on X by Markus Eckstein, Advanced Clinician Scientist at the IZKF, adding:
“Great AI research in head and neck cancer.
Plus beyond that a potential major source for researching multimodal machine-learning methodologies in precision oncology.”
Quoting Markus Eckstein’s post below:
“Another important piece of AI research from fau together with Andreas Kist and Toni Gostian. Three years of hard work led to an open #multimodal dataset for Precision Oncology in Head And Neck Cancer (HNSCC): HANCOCK (n=763) spans histology images, immune cell data, clinical follow up data, lab data, pathology and surgery reports.
We integrated all these data with ML + foundation-models and reached superior outcome prediction than regular clinical or pathological classifications do. Huge advance for HNSCC patients.”
