“Not longer after finishing my oncology training, I realized something that has shaped the way I work ever since: every gap or barrier our patients face is actually an opportunity to improve the system. But opportunities don´t reveal themselves automatically. They need to be identified, understood and documented. Only then we can design goal-driven and evidence based interventions that can really make a difference and that can be shared and scaled.
This is for me one of the most meaningful parts of working in oncology, turning patients´ struggles into pathways for better care. Thank you to the mentors who planted that seed in my mind. Direct from the European School of Thoracic Oncology!”
