Roshankumar Patil: Integrating CRAD’s SGRT Into Modern Radiation Oncology

Roshankumar Patil, Lead Consultant Radiation Oncologist at Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Excited to share that we’ve just installed CRAD’s Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) system in-house at our Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital, Nashik!

The first and only one SGRT set up in whole north Maharashtra!

As a radiation oncologist passionate about precision oncology, I’ve long advocated for tools that elevate patient safety and treatment accuracy.

SGRT can represent a game-changer in radiation planning and delivery, using optical surface tracking to monitor patient positioning in real-time-without tattoos, markers, or imaging.

These are the Key Pros of CRAD’s SGRT I will be more looking for:

1. Can we reduce or Eliminate skin marks?

  • This will reduce patient anxiety and improving comfort-ideal for diverse patients.

2. Can we get a help in Real-Time Motion Management?

  • Sub-millimeter accuracy in tracking respiratory motion and intrafraction shifts, minimizing healthy tissue exposure (studies show up to 30% reduction in setup errors).

3. Will it enhance the Planning Efficiency?

  • It Integrates seamlessly with TPS for CBCT-free workflows, speeding up DIBH treatments for breast cancer by 20-40%. Improved.

4. What about Reproducibility?

  • Optical guidance ensures consistent positioning across fractions, boosting PTV coverage and lowering margins.

5. Will it help to get Patient-Centric Benefits?

  • Non-ionizing, contactless monitoring promotes compliance, especially for pediatric or claustrophobic cases.

This tech aligns perfectly with our mission to integrate cutting-edge digital health into oncology and rehab care !!!

Thank you Col Dr Sunil Rao sir and Sanjay Chawla sir for making all these facilities available at Sahyadri Hospitals.”
