“The Cancer Association of Namibia (WO30) is proud to partner with the Teal Sister Foundation in Zambia on this important conversation about cervical cancer.
Cervical cancer remains a major health challenge across Africa. In Namibia, it is the second most diagnosed cancer, with hundreds of women diagnosed each year.
While several factors may contribute to the development of cervical cancer, persistent infection with Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the largest contributing cause.
The HPV Cancer Prevention Programme has been launched in Namibia, with HPV immunisation freely available through the Ministry of Health and Social Services and at participating private healthcare facilities across the country.
