Rob Winn: Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month – Raising Awareness to Change the Future
Rob Winn, Director of VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This September, we recognize Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month as a time to raise awareness of one of the deadliest gynecologic cancers.
Each year, thousands of women are diagnosed, and because symptoms are often vague and overlooked, ovarian cancer is frequently detected at later stages. This makes awareness, education, and research all the more critical.
At VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, we remain committed to advancing prevention, early detection, and treatments that improve survival and quality of life. Through research and partnerships with our communities, we strive to ensure that every woman no matter her background or where she lives has access to life-saving care.
Let’s continue to amplify awareness and encourage open conversations with our loved ones and health care providers. Together, we can make a difference.”
