Rasha Aboelhassan: When Dedication to Patients Receives Meaningful Recognition

Rasha Aboelhassan, Council Member at International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, Senior Oncology Consultant at Nasser Institute Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:

“The most meaningful recognition is the one that comes from your own people, in your own country.

As physicians, we often see serving our patients and our community as a duty, not an achievement. We carry on with our daily work, constantly striving to do more, often feeling that we could have done better.

Then, unexpectedly, you discover that someone has been watching, appreciating, and valuing your efforts.

Receiving this invitation from the Cairo Medical Syndicate to celebrate Doctor’s Day is a deeply humbling moment. It reminds me that while we may consider our work simply a duty, its impact does not go unnoticed.

Truly grateful and honored.”
