Pritha Paul, Manager – Business Development and Market Access Manager at Biocon Biologics, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Privileged to have joined the Patient Support Group Meeting organised by The Max Foundation at Tata Medical Center for CML and GIST patients on November 15th.
These conversations are a reminder that access is not just about medicines – it is also about timely diagnosis, continuous monitoring, adherence support, and the emotional load patients and caregivers carry through long treatment journeys.
Key points that stood out for me:
- The need for stronger counselling and follow-up support, especially for patients starting therapy.
- Persistent challenges around side-effects, travel for care, and staying on long-term treatment.
- The impact of well-run support groups in helping patients navigate fear, confusion, and stigma.
- The critical role of coordinated care between clinicians, nurses, counsellors, and patient navigators, support staff, who make these spaces meaningful for patients. Thank you Dr Soumitra for highlighting this through purposeful imagery.
Strengthening patient support ecosystems must be central to how we think about cancer care – from diagnosis to long-term management.
Thank you for reigniting the passion !”
